The degrees and trainings are below. They matter, and I’ve done the work, but here’s what it’s like to sit across from me… I work with smart, capable women who are exhausted from holding it together. The ones who can analyze everything, manage everyone, and still feel like they’re somehow the problem. I’m not going to nod along when you’re avoiding something that matters. And I’m not going to sit quietly while you tear yourself apart. I’m direct, I’m steady, and I’m on your side… which sometimes means telling you you’re wrong. I curse…sometimes, a lot. If that bothers you, I’m probably not your therapist. But if it makes you exhale a little, we’ll probably be just fine. I’ve been at this since 2011— working in high schools, college counseling centers, outdoor programs, private practice. I also genuinely find people interesting— even (especially) when they’re complicated. I live in Asheville, NC with my husband, two very small kids, and a dog who runs the household better than any of us. . . . . . . I didn’t grow up self-assured. I know what it’s like to flip between people-pleasing and shutting down, to want connection and push it away, to feel capable and completely unsure at the same time. What helped me wasn’t endless validation and generic coping skills, it was someone grounded enough to be honest with me. That’s how I work. You don’t need someone to rescue you.
